Stanley
Stanley
Stanley offers a true off-grid escape - totally secluded on a beautiful private estate with limited phone signal. Despite his wild and peaceful setting, he’s actually less than an hour from London. From the cabin, you’ll look out over nearby woodland with a little brook, and as you wander the estate, you’ll discover quiet lakes, gentle streams, and the occasional friendly herd of cows making their way through the fields.
Just a short drive away, you’ll find the charming town of Tunbridge Wells and the magical Ashdown Forest, famed as the home of Winnie-the-Pooh. With over 6,500 acres of woodland and ancient heritage, it’s a dream for walkers, cyclists, and anyone who loves to explore.
Stanley is built for comfort and calm - there’s a powerful hot shower, a king-sized bed dressed in soft Piglet in Bed linen, and a little kitchenette with a gas hob for home-cooked meals. Designed for a proper digital detox, you’ll also find a phone lockbox, a radio, and a stack of board games - everything you need for slow, screen-free days in nature.
Good to know
There is limited signal at Stanley and there is an 800m walk from the parking spot, so we don't tend to recommend Stanley to solo guests.
The estate hosts a pheasant shoot on select dates between October and January - drop us a message if you’d like to know more before booking.

Pooh Corner
Pooh Corner is a little tearoom/restaurant, situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. The perfect stop for either the casual visitor or the die hard fan of A.A. Milne's, Winnie the Pooh. Head for a bite to eat, something to drink, or just to check out the gift shop and museum.

Historic homes
Hammerwood Park was built in 1792 by the architect of the White House and US Capitol Building. It was also purchased by Led Zepplin in the 60's. Today, as well as providing a venue for concerts and filming, the house and gardens are open to the public during summer months.

Sanden Vineyard
Sanden Vineyard is positioned in an AONB overlooking Harrison’s Rocks, and was originally planted in 1987. This small, family run vineyard produces a White and Blush Brut Sparking Wine, made in the traditional method of second fermentation in the bottle.

The amazing location and quality time it supported you to have
Getting to spend quality time with my partner, plenty of time to play different board games which is always a yes in our book!! Bed was so comfy. Could've stayed in that forever. Loved looking at the nature. The wash stuff smells great! The essentials being provided made it so easy to just settle in. Loved the strangers notes, they were so sweet and made us feel connected and it was so nice to be able to write one ourselves- it helped me reflect on the experience. + a very friendly chat with the housekeeper(?) when we checked out because we passed her in the car!
Loved the coziness, peaceful, ability to be offline with other things to do, deers, good hikes!
Loved the private Scenery Fire Location!
We had a very peaceful stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We had everything we needed.
Where to start? I had such an enjoyable, important and valuable stay. I had built up a lot of static leading up to my trip as a busy father running my own company and unplugged seemed like a very good fit. I hadn't quite imagined just how much it was needed and how well unplugged delivered. The cabin was incredibly comfortable and I didn't notice I was off grid. I did notice I was off grid when it came to enjoying the peace and quiet. I am looking forward to my next trip already and very excited about sharing the experience with my family - speaking of which where are the family sized cabins? Just a thought...
Gorgeous setting, super peaceful and quiet. The cabin was amazing, really well equipped and thoughtfully designed. 10/10!
The location was perfect - felt remote but was only a short walk away from civilisation. The view out of the window by the bed was stunning. Loved grinding our own coffee. Great books and selection of games.
I really liked the peace and the fact that there were plenty of things near by to see!
The Stanley cabin and location was idyllic; quiet, cosy, lots of walks close by. The cabin is small but well designed and the bed is very comfortable. Probably the nicest bedding anywhere I’ve stayed. One major downside was the amount of noise from planes overhead. I didn’t realise the cabin was under a flight path. I would book again but not at this cabin.
Loved the peace, view, cabin set up!
Where to begin! We love the location of the cabin, amount of hikes to choose from in the area, amazing seating outside (we loved the fire pit!), seating on the cabin's porch where we could enjoy the breakfast on the sunshine, boardgames, books and cassettes selection, very very comfy bed, firewood burning stove, really enjoyable shower....literally everything!
Loved the books, games and bedding. The area was great and the view and cabin was beautiful.
We loved how in the middle of nowhere it felt, how we started slow living, the lovely little touches that made it feel homely and classic
Loved The cabin itself and the area around it
Lovely location, comfy bed, good communication.
Loved the cabin, it was well laid out and equipped. Beautiful location, good guide for getting there and for the local area.
I loved the location, quietness and the views. The cabin was really cosy and met all the expectations
Secluded, super clean, unique experience.
The best thing was the big bed with the heavy blanket, it was so comfortable!
I honestly love everything! Peace and quiet and perfectly organised
Loved how easy it was
Loved being surround by nature
Very secluded and away from any other properties, unlimited fire supplies, very comfy bed and we saw so many deer it was amazing!
