Derek
Derek
Perched on a quiet hillside, Derek sits on the same site as his brother Russell and offers front-row views of Exmoor’s wild beauty and the South West Coast. As you arrive you'll pass a small private pond just down from the cabin. From the window at the foot of the bed, you have far-reaching views of the woodland vista.
With little to no signal, Derek offers a truly off-grid escape - the perfect spot to slow down, stargaze, and soak up nature at its finest.
A short drive from Exmoor National Park, there is every type of nature on your doorstep - walk the coastline, explore hidden coves or hike The Valley of The Rocks. Feeling adventurous? England’s only off-grid pub, The Poltimore Arms, is just 10 minutes away - no WiFi, no frills, just good ale and great stories.
Back at the cabin, the is plenty of nature and wildlife to soak up, and if you're lucky, say hello to the farm’s friendly dog. As night falls, light up the fire pit, pour a warm drink, and look up - Exmoor’s Dark Sky Reserve status makes for some of the best stargazing in the world.
Built for comfort and simplicity, Derek has a king-sized bed, floor-to-ceiling windows, a hot shower, and a well-equipped kitchen - everything you need for off-grid living at its best.
Dogs are welcomed at Derek, but please note that the area around the cabin is not enclosed and there are free-roaming sheep and chickens nearby. As such, we ask that your dog is kept on a lead at all times. Please also be aware that the friendly farm dog (named Russell) is also known to stop by and say hello to guests, so this cabin may not be suitable for those who are afraid of dogs, or for those with reactive dogs.

Reviews
Loved the great view over the Bray Valley! The cabin had everything we needed, even friendly dogs.
Loved the log burner and view from cabin!
Absolutely loved our stay with Unplugged. From the moment we arrived, everything felt so thoughtfully put together. The cabin was cosy, peaceful and beautifully designed, and I loved all the little details — especially the amazing scents throughout the cabin. Even the sheets were so lovely and comfortable! The view was honestly one of my favourite parts. Waking up surrounded by nature and having that beautiful scenery right outside the cabin made it feel like a proper escape from everyday life. It was exactly the kind of slow, quiet break we needed. I also have to mention the farm dog! 🐕 she was such a lovely little bonus and definitely made the experience even more memorable. 😂 Everything about the stay encouraged us to slow down, switch off and actually enjoy being present — whether that was cooking, reading, exploring the area or simply sitting and taking in the view. You can really tell that a lot of thought has gone into creating the whole experience, from the cabin itself to the little touches that make you feel at home. We genuinely didn’t want to leave! 10/10 from us. We absolutely loved it and would happily come back again. 🌿✨
The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. I loved the piglet in bed bedding!
The location, the thought behind it. It was a very "intentional" stay!
It was in such a beautiful location, it was nice to experience being off grid for an entire weekend and the fire pit was a really lovely addition. The farm it's on was gorgeous and I loved being able to explore it!

It was a beautiful slow peaceful weekend
Loved the peace & quiet, the lack of IT. Just the sounds of nature.
Stayed at Derek. 10 out of 10 recommend. Woke up and went to sleep with sheep munching on the grass around us and to the most beautiful birdsong. No vehicle noise, just nature. Sitting listening to the wind in the trees, admiring the stunning views. Bed was extremely comfortable, cabin was an absolute delight and the farm dogs were very special frens! Adorable!
Loved the cabin & equipment & views were perfect!

You guys had thought of everything, and it was such a wonderful detox. We really enjoyed it and the cabin is just beautiful. The view from the bed is something else, especially where the windows offer such a panoramic view - picturesque!
