Basil
Basil
If you’re a wine lover, a woodland wanderer, or simply a fan of doing absolutely nothing at all, Basil is the perfect cabin for you. With views over a tree-lined meadow, you might spot the occasional deer or hare passing by. A short walk away is Kinsbrook Vineyard, a gorgeous vineyard, restaurant and farm shop where you can where you can spend the afternoon enjoying English wine and seasonal plates. Unplugged guests also get a free wine flight with lunch or dinner reservations Wed-Sun.
Inside, Basil has everything you need for a relaxed stay. There’s a kitchen with a gas hob, mini fridge, and all the kit you’ll need to whip up your favourite meals. Basil is built for slower living, you’ll find a phone lockbox, a stack of books, and board games to keep you company as you switch off and soak up the quiet. Dogs are more than welcome too, though the area around the cabin isn’t enclosed. For their safety (and that of the surrounding wildlife’s) we recommend keeping them close by and on a lead while exploring.
Basil is in the same meadow as his brother cabin Gruff. You'll still feel secluded as the cabins are separated by a hedgerow, and accessed from separate entrances, so it's the perfect choice for stays with friends or as a small family.

Reviews
The location was magical, as it was dog friendly and set quite a distance from other houses and roads we were able to relax comfortably with our dogs, knowing if they barked they weren’t disturbing other people. There were loads of great walks nearby as well.
The cabin was well designed, and had really thoughtful touches. Location was lovely.
Loved the peaceful location!
The field it was in, the local area and the vibes in the cabin, just so relaxing
Loved the books and games; the good quality shower, kitchen contents, coffee grinder, details, map, bedding, design of hut.
It was truly peaceful and quiet with no screens! Exactly what the doctor ordered!
Loved The solitude and seclusion. Cabin was perfectly equipped and had everything I needed!
The cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the big panoramic window just a stunning place to spend your time. I loved the layout of the cabin, it was all really thought through. Having a proper hot shower was lovely. The location was nice with lots of great walks in the area. The digital detox element was great, with thoughtful little details like the Polaroid camera, the map with things already marked
Loved the window view, the fire, the coffee, the radio
We loved the concept, lots of things have been thought of, pretty much anything. There are a couple of additions we would have liked, for example glasses for wine, but understand why there isn’t any provided. The main issue we had was the smell of urine from the toilet, it was horrendous from the moment we entered, it really made being in the cabin unpleasant, even with the log burner on we could smell it.
Plenty of nice public footpaths nearby
We loved the area, especially Knepp — I couldn’t recommend it enough! The bedding was lovely, the hot shower was great, and the body wash was a nice touch. We also really enjoyed the range of board games and the radio.
Loved the cabin, scenery, going offline
Loved the peace and quiet. Lots of seating outside. Hot shower. Fire pit, with wood.
Peaceful, a real switch off
you had thought about all the touches! everything was considered for a relaxing stay!
