Koya
Koya
Located on an arable farm, Koya is a unique off-grid cabin, nestled in the tree line with sweeping views across open countryside. Expect total seclusion, your only neighbours being the free range hens roaming across 10 acres of farmland surrounding the cabin. Located near Saffron Walden, which is a gorgeous little town that recently won Sunday Times Best Place To Live 2025.
Inside, Koya has everything you need for a three-day digital detox. You’ll find our signature phone lockbox to help you switch off, an instant camera, books, board games and map of the local area. Plus, there's a hot shower, gas hob and everything you need in the kitchen - all the comforts you need, perfectly balanced with the simplicity of off-grid living.
When you’re ready to explore, there are plenty of beautiful hikes right on your doorstep, and a handful of welcoming pubs within walking distance for lazy lunches or cosy dinners. And if you fancy something a little different, there’s even a free-range egg vending machine just down the road - a proper countryside gem.
Dogs are warmly welcomed at Koya, though as the area isn’t enclosed and there’s electric fencing nearby, we recommend keeping them close and on a lead to keep both them and the local wildlife safe.

The Loaf Tin are a small-batch micro bakery just a couple of miles from the historic market town of Saffron Walden - tucked away in the lovely Compass Courtyard.

The Cricketers
The Cricketers, less than a 40 minute walk away, is steeped in a history of family, fine food and exceptional hospitality. It is newly refurbished and wagging tails are welcome!

Saffron Walden
A historic market town, Saffron Walden is a great spot for a wander. We include a local map in the cabin to explore the popular walking trails in the area.

The Egg Shed
Koya is only a short walk from a local egg vending machine, right next to the chicken farm. Wander down in the morning to pick up your brekkie.

Loved the location. The simplicity. Things to do. Tranquility.
Location was perfect - great space - so lovely and relaxed!
Loved the infrastructure to live without phone, map with recommendations, coffee & tea provided, easy check in, comfortable bed!
The location was lovely and the cabin was comfortable.
The location was easily accessible and super private. We had tons of space to explore and roam. Also the cabin was lovely and clean and all of the utensils provided made it so easy!
It was so healing being out in nature and staying in a cabin that promotes a slow way of living. I'm someone who has struggled to switch off and find myself easily over stimulated. Koya let me be alone with my thoughts and in my energy. Interestingly enough I had some rather emotional moments come up for me, just because I finally gave myself the space to process them. I loved the quiet moments, the nature sounds, getting lost out on a walk and connecting with friendly locals. I tried out new recipes, did puzzles, inhaled a whole book, journalled and listened to music in the radio now and then. I felt so full inside. Incredibly healing experience.
The location was perfect, we had everything we needed - the camera and games were our favourites!
Loved the remoteness!
I loved how the space felt like it naturally nudged you towards presence and taking your time throughout your stay there. The cabin immediately felt like stepping into a slower pace of life.
Loved the peace and quiet, being outdoors.
A calm, beautiful, peaceful location!
Loved being able to switch off and relax in nature
Beautiful surroundings, felt away from everything, very well done in terms of lighting and the small details.
Loved the space and the calm!
We loved how organised everything was in the lead up to and on arrival - the email comms was fantastic, and really helped us prepare for our stay, and while in the cabin the instructions provided made our stay very easy and enjoyable!
It was nice to just be amongst nature and not have to rush to go somewhere or do something, just relaxing next to the window watching the birds was so relaxing.
Loved the information provided before the stay- I knew exactly what to expect, which was really helpful.
Felt safe, everything I needed
Gorgeous location, lovely interior, beautiful set up with the high bed and the little woodfire oven.
Loved quietness; Nature; Remoteness;
Loved the absence of human noise and angst as well as being unplugged - thank good for the radio though!
Loved the views, the tranquility, the remoteness
Loved the location, the details (games/radios/lockbox) and how curated it felt
Loved the peace and quiet, the books, and the cassettes. How easy it was to know everything about the cabin through the manual and notes on the walls. Comfortable bed and outside area. Plenty of room in a small place still. Could fully switch off from the outside world.
