Archie

The "Foodies" Cabin

Vale of Belvoir
Dog friendly
Hot tub
90 mins from London

In partnership with Big Green Egg, Archie is our cabin curated for "foodies". Tucked beside a woodland on a beautiful estate, Archie has been thoughtfully designed to help you both rest and recharge, and cook up delicious meals inside and outside the cabin.

You'll have your own Big Green Egg to grill, roast, slow-cook and bake. Equipped with all the cooking equipment you'll need (down to a chef's apron), you can make anything from pizza to rotisserie chicken. Archie also comes with a wood-fired hot tub with views into the woodland.

Archie is located a short walk away from Belvoir Castle, which has its own farm shop filled with local produce and even an on-site brasserie. There are great food spots nearby, including The Martin's Arms, run by Laurence Henry, champion of MasterChef: The Professionals, and The Chequers Inn which is also award-winning.

Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a few days of proper switch-off. There’s a hot shower, super comfortable kingsize bed, and a kitchen kitted out for cooking up all your favourite meals. For your digital detox, the cabin comes stocked with board games, a retro cassette radio, plenty of books, and a map of the local area.

Archie is only a 65 min train ride from London Kings Cross, followed by an 18 min taxi. Some restaurants are a short drive away, but most walks and local gems can be reached by foot. There is a public footpath a few minutes from the cabin so you can explore the gorgeous Leicestershire countryside.

Dogs are welcome at Archie. but please keep them on leash for their safety and that of the local wildlife.

Good to know:

  • Phone signal at the cabin is limited for most networks, so please be aware you may need to walk 100m or so back to the parking area to text or call friends, family or cabin support.
  • Archie is on the same estate as his sister-cabin, Yasmin. You won't see or hear each other when at the cabins, but they're close enough to be perfect for friends, couples and for groups who might want to stay close by.

FAQs

Find the answer to our most frequently wondered things. Read all FAQs here.

You can travel to Archie via car or public transport (train and short taxi ride).

After booking your chosen cabin, you’ll receive an online ‘Welcome Guide’ detailing the exact location of the cabin and directions by car or train and taxi. If you’re travelling by train, we highly recommend booking your connecting taxi in advance, as rural locations don’t tend to have Uber!

Archie shares the same woodland as his sister cabin, Yasmin. You cannot see the other cabin, but you will share the same parking spot.

The cabin is your space to relax in any way you like to, but we’ve kitted it out with lots of phone-free activities, including:

🔥 Wood-fired sauna
❄️ Ice bath
🧬 Wellbeing products and devices
📚 A selection of our fave books
👾 Board games
🃏 Intelligent Change Conversation Cards
📻 Radio Cassette Player + Tapes
📸 Instant Camera + 10 free films
🗺 Map and compass

And of course you might want to head out and explore the local area. The map and welcome guide include recommendations of restaurants, cafes and other attractions nearby.

Check-in is at 3pm
Check-out is at 10am

We're working on providing BBQ and breakfast packages to add to your booking from the local farm shop. This will be added as soon as it's finalised. Until then, the estate farmshop is about 20 minute walk from the cabin and there are lots of amazing restaurants and pubs nearby.

All cabins have a well-equipped kitchen including a mini-fridge and gas hob to cook up your fave meals. We include pots, pans, cooking utensils and even chef knives. Plus, loose leaf tea, coffee beans, oil, salt and pepper.

Yes! All our cabins have hot showers and an eco-composting toilet in an indoor bathroom. We provide eco-friendly toiletries and luxury towels, too!

All our cabins are on private land and locks from the inside and out. Helix is hidden in her own woodland, so there is wildlife surrounding the cabin. We'd advise only booking a solo trip here if you're not too easily spooked as noises of nature can sometimes make guests a bit uneasy - even though there's nothing to worry about!

We include enough firewood for so you can keep warm and toasty during your stay.

We recommend you unplug for the full duration of your stay to get the most from your digital detox, but this is totally self-policed. Our lockboxes have a padlock and key, with the key in a sealed envelope, so if you want to unlock it, you can.

We provide you with a Nokia so you can reach our cabin support team and contact friends and family if you need to. The number for the Nokia will be shared with you in advance of your stay.

All our stays are 3 nights as this is the minimum time it takes to fully switch off and reap the benefits of nature and time offline. You can read more about 'The 3 Day Effect' here.

We know plans can change, so we’ll always do what we can to accommodate booking amendments. If your check-in date is over 28 days away, your stay can be rebooked for a new date or you can request a voucher, or a full refund. If your check-in date is within 14-28 days, you can move your stay to a future date, or request a voucher equal to the payment you have made. Cancellations or amendments are unfortunately not possible if your check-in date is in or within 14 days. All bookings have a 48 hour cooling off period, so if you change your mind you can reschedule your stay or get a full refund. Rescheduled stays are non-refundable.
