While it feels remote, Bear is walking distance from a welcoming village pub and the local shop, and is on the doorstep of the Brechfa Forest, a gorgeous woodland spanning 14,000 acres and laced with scenic trails to explore of foot or bike. For days out, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales are only 25 minutes away, while those seeking deeper relaxation can visit the woodland wellness retreat Sauna Y Coed, around a 45-minute drive away. He also shares a site with Seren, if you're looking to escape with friends or as a small family.
