Unplugged - Terms and conditions


1. Introduction 

In these terms and conditions (except where the context otherwise requires):

These Terms (“Terms”) are a binding legal agreement between you and Unplugged that govern your right to use the websites, applications, and other offerings from Unplugged. “Unplugged”, “we” and “us” each means Get Unplugged Limited (registered in England and Wales with number 12382035) whose registered office is at 63/66 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8LE and “you” means the person booking and if different the person for whom the booking is made. “Guests” are individuals who either make the booking or who have had the booking made for them. Each cabin escape listed on our website is known as a “Listing”.


2. Service

2.1 We provide a digital detox in off-grid cabins in the countryside, an hour or two from city life. The experience is three nights (unless otherwise agreed) and is available for solo guests or up to 2 individuals. The cabins are self-contained with a bathroom, kitchen, and bed area.


3. Interpretation

3.1 The headings in these Terms and Conditions are for convenience only and do not affect their interpretation.

3.2 Words imparting the singular number shall include the plural and vice-versa.


4. Booking

When you make a booking, you are agreeing to pay all charges for the stay and any other items (”Add-ons”) identified during checkout (collectively, “Total”). When you receive the booking confirmation, a contract (”Booking”) is formed directly between you and Unplugged. In addition to these Terms, you will be subject to, and responsible for complying with, all terms of the Booking, including without limitation, the cancellation policy and any other rules, standards, policies, or requirements identified in the Listing or during checkout that apply to the Booking. It is your responsibility to read and understand these rules, standards, policies, and requirements prior to booking a Listing.


Guest Conditions


5. Arrival and Departure 

5.1 On your scheduled day, you can arrive from 3pm (unless otherwise stated). On your date of departure, you are requested to check out by 10am (unless otherwise stated).

5.2 On departure, the cabin and the site are to be left clean and tidy. All rubbish/recycling is to be tidied responsibly. If the cabin is left in an unacceptable condition, we will charge for additional cleaning or repair services. This will be charged at an hourly rate of £25 depending on the extra cleaning, laundry or repair required. Fees are payable within 30 days of your check out date.

5.3 Upon check-out inspection, if anything has been taken from the cabin we will charge the full value of the item. Payments will be required to be made within 30 days, or the goods to be returned to us.

5.4 If you leave an item in the cabin, we will return the item to your postal address. A fixed fee of £18 will be charged for items up to 10kg in weight (items heavier than this will incur an additional charged). This fee goes entirely to our local changeover team to cover postage costs and their time and efforts to return the parcel. We will request that a delivery service with either tracking and/or a signature upon delivery is used, and provide you with tracking where possible. Unplugged and our local changeover teams cannot be held responsible for any damage to or losses of personal items left in cabins, either at the cabin, or in transit, and goods are returned only on the acceptance of these terms.


6. Restrictions and Responsibilities

6.1 Smoking in the cabins is strictly prohibited

6.2 By making a booking you are accepting responsibility for any damage or loss caused by yourself or a member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid to Unplugged. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for meeting any claims subsequently made (together with our own and the other party's full legal costs) as a result of your actions.

6.3 Open flames are strictly prohibited in the cabin, except for in the designated fireplace using the materials that Unplugged have provided. These include (but are not limited to) the burning of candles, incense, lanterns, lamps, or any other flame.

6.4 Commercial photography and filming is not permitted anywhere on site without prior consent from Unplugged. Any content captured during permitted photography or filming may not be publicly distributed without prior permission from Unplugged and must be expressly credited as having been taken at Unplugged. For the avoidance of doubt, this shall include accurate tagging on all social media platforms or link to unplugged.rest.

6.5 Drone use is forbidden without prior consent from Unplugged due to private land restrictions and interference with nature and livestock.


7. Cancellations or Amendments


Guest cancellations or amendments

7.1 You must contact Unplugged on the details provided in your booking confirmation to cancel or amend your booking.

B. Our cancellation policy for any booking is 28 days prior to your scheduled day of arrival. Cancellations prior to 28 days of scheduled arrival can be rebooked for a future available date, or qualify for a full refund, or a voucher for a future stay. Note: refunds can take up to 10 business days and will be returned to your original payment method.

7.2 Cancellations within 14 - 28 days of scheduled date of arrival can choose to move stay to a future date or receive a voucher up to the value that the guest has paid. 

7.3 Cancellations within 14 days of scheduled date of arrival will be charged 100% total booking value.

7.4 If you book a stay within 14 days of checkin, you will have a 48 hour cooling off period, where you can reschedule your stay for free or get a full refund within 48 hours from the time your booking was made.

7.5 Should you wish to amend the date of your booking we request you notify us at least 28 days  prior to your scheduled date of arrival. Rescheduled stays are non-refundable.


Unplugged cancellations or amendments

7.6 In the unlikely event that we are unable to accommodate a confirmed reservation it may be necessary to offer an alternative. If at any time we need to make changes that will significantly affect your stay or we need to cancel your stay, we will tell you as soon as possible, offering a suitable alternative or a refund. This does not apply to minor changes or events during your stay, resulting from unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control.

7.7 We cannot be held responsible for cancelling your booking as a result of your failure to comply with any requirement of our Booking Terms & Conditions, and we cannot be held liable for any expenses, costs or losses incurred by you as a result of any change or cancellation.

7.8 If you or a member of your party behaves in a way that causes or is likely to cause danger, upset or distress to a third party or to Unplugged, the wildlife or guest property, we are entitled, without prior notice, to curtail the stay and request that the person(s) concerned leave Unplugged. No refunds or return travel arrangements will be made and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of such a curtailment.


8. Circumstances beyond our control

8.1 We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. These include (but are not limited to) adverse weather conditions, fire, riot, war, terrorist activity (or threat of such activity), industrial dispute, natural disaster, or injuries and death of an individual(s) through accidental circumstances unconnected with Unplugged.


9. Additional requests

9.1 All additional or special requests are subject to availability and we cannot guarantee the provision for special requests. Any additional requests should be made prior to your arrival, giving reasonable advance notice.

9.2 The property booked is only permitted to be used by the number of guests agreed on booking. If additional guests use the property Unplugged reserves the right to make a charge.

9.3 No additional people should visit the property even for the daytime without the explicit written agreement of Unplugged.

9.4 If agreed, the hirer should be aware that in some situation’s charges may apply.


10. Insurance

10.1 It is your responsibility to ensure that any insurance cover you have provides adequate cover for your needs and for the duration of your stay.

10.2 Unplugged recommends taking out travel insurance to cover your stay.


11. Liability and Indemnity

11.1 We accept liability for, and totally restricted to, services booked via the Unplugged website, in accordance with the Booking Terms & Conditions current at the time of booking. We cannot accept any other form of liability.

11.2 You must compensate us for all damages, costs, claims and expenses suffered by us arising from any loss or damage to any equipment (including that belonging to third parties) caused by you or your agents or employees.

11.3 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matters for which it would be unlawful to exclude or limit liability.


12. Third party websites and viruses

12.1 Unplugged cannot be held responsible for the accuracy, content, or availability of information about our accommodation that may be found on third party websites. Neither are we responsible for the content or privacy policies of any third party websites that have links to or from the Unplugged website. Attempts to interfere with the operation of our website, by whatever means, or any attempt to place an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our website or server infrastructure is prohibited. In the event of our website failing to operate, either in whole or in part, due to infections by computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond reasonable control, we reserve the right in our sole and absolute discretion to prohibit usage of our site and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the site.

13.1 All copyright and other intellectual property rights in all text, images, sounds and other materials on this site is the property of Get Unplugged Limited and its affiliated companies. No reproduction of any part of this site may be sold or distributed for commercial gain or modified or incorporated into any other work, publication or site. All names, logos, trademarks, service marks, trade dress and trade names are proprietary to Unplugged and may not be used by anyone for any purpose without our prior express written consent.  It is illegal to use any spy wares, robot, spider or other automatic device, or manual process to track or copy the site or the contents or information without our prior express written consent, apart from the recognised major search engines such as Google & Yahoo MSN. The use of any such material from the Unplugged website on any other Web, Internet, intranet, extranet or other site or computer environment is strictly prohibited. Information on our site is intended for your reference only.


14. Privacy and Electronic mailing

14.1 Unplugged operates an opt-in email policy. By contacting Unplugged or making a booking with your email address, you will receive communications from Unplugged relating to your booking.  At the time of booking, you will have the option to opt into our marketing mailing list. If you wish to opt out of our mailing list you can use the link or email address provided at the bottom of any of our emails to do so. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe by sending an email to: [email protected]


15. General Data Protection Regulations

15.1 When supplying the Services, we may gain access to and/or acquire the ability to transfer, store or process personal data.

15.2 We agree that where such processing of personal data takes place, you shall be the 'data controller' and we shall be the 'data processor' as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as may be amended, extended and/or re-enacted from time to time.

15.3 For the avoidance of doubt, 'Personal Data', 'Processing', 'Data Controller', 'Data Processor' and 'Data Subject' shall have the same meaning as in the GDPR.

15.4 We shall only Process Personal Data to the extent reasonably required to enable it to supply the Services as mentioned in these terms and conditions.

15.5 We shall not disclose Personal Data to any third parties other than employees, Directors, agents, sub-contractors or advisors on a strict 'need-to-know' basis

16. Notice and Communication

16.1 All notices under these Terms and Conditions must be in writing and signed by, or on behalf of, the party giving notice.

16.2 Notices shall be deemed to have been given:

i. when delivered to the other party,

ii. if notices are sent by email or any other electronic means then a proof of delivery or a read receipt shall be requested.

iii. The notice shall be deemed served on the day following receipt.

16.3 All notices under these Terms and Conditions must be addressed to the most recent address, email address or fax number notified to the other party.


17. General

17.1 If you have any specific queries you should contact the team at Unplugged directly, [email protected]. Unplugged nor any party involved in creating, producing or delivering this site shall be liable for any damages arising out of any access to, use of, or inability to use this site.


18. Law and Jurisdiction

18.1 This Agreement and all disputes shall be governed by the law of England and Wales.

Unplugged Out of Office Terms & Conditions

Our general terms & conditions found above apply to all Unplugged Out of Office members, excluding 7.1 - 7.4.

The term “employee” refers to the individual who has received a voucher code for an Unplugged stay as part of their work benefit. A “weekday stay” or “mid-week stay” is defined by a stay checking in on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. A “weekend stay” is is defined by a stay checking in on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.


1. Voucher Code Validity

1.1 The voucher code will expire 1 year from the issue date upon which payment is received. The voucher must be redeemed within the given timeframe.

1.2 If an employee is added and paid for after the initial company onboarding, this voucher will be valid 1 year from this date.

1.3 Each code has 1 redemption.

1.4 The employee must pay the difference in price if the stay falls on a bank holiday.


2. Booking Restrictions

2.1 Working week escapes

The voucher code is valued up to cost of a weekday stay. The code may be used for weekend stays and the employee will be responsible to pay the difference.

2.2 Weekend escapes

The voucher code is valued up to the cost of a weekend stay. Each code can be redeemed once. If an employee books a mid-week stay at a lower cost, the difference will be lost.

2.3 Non-transferable

The voucher codes are non-transferable and can only be used by the individual named on the voucher.

2.4 Not Valid with Other Offers

The voucher code cannot be used with other promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs.

2.5 Add-ons

The individual is responsible for paying an additional cost for any add-on. These include (but are not limited to) “dog extra” and “late check-out”. The add-ons are not available at all cabins.


3. Amendments Policy

3.1 You must contact Unplugged on the details provided in your booking confirmation to amend your booking.

3.2 Each employee can amend their stay up to one time if the enquiry is sent 48 hours prior of scheduled date of arrival.

3.3 Amendments within 48 hours of scheduled date of arrival will result in the expiry of the voucher code.


4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Our cancellation policy for any booking is 14 days (two weeks) prior to your scheduled day of arrival. Cancellations prior to 14 days of scheduled arrival can be rebooked for a future available date free of charge once, or qualify for a the voucher to be re-issued for a future stay. (Note: the expiration date will remain the same).

4.2 Cancellations within 14 days (excluding the last 48 hours) of your scheduled date of arrival can be rescheduled for a future date free of charge once. You must reschedule within 24 hours of the email being sent to Unplugged. If you do not reschedule within 24 hours, your code will expire and cannot be used.

4.3 If you do not arrive or stay at Unplugged without giving at least 48 hour notice, you will not be able to use the original code for a future stay.


5. Refund Policies

5.1 Vouchers cannot be exchanged for monetary value.
